  • Biography

    Karin Chen, MD is an Associate Professor in the Division of Immunology, Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and an attending physician at Seattle Children’s Hospital. She is the Associate Program Director for the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Training Program at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She provides clinical care for patients with immunodeficiencies and is board certified in Allergy and Immunology and in Pediatrics.

    Dr. Chen received her MD from the University of California, Irvine, and completed her residency training in Pediatrics and a clinical fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at the University of California, Los Angeles.

    Dr. Chen’s research involves the investigation of primary immunodeficiency diseases, with an emphasis in genetics and disease pathogenesis, and immune dysregulation in immune deficiency disorders. She has been involved in the gene discovery of NFKB2 as a cause of an inherited primary immunodeficiency disease syndrome.
