Science of Immunotherapy

We’re leading the scientific field in basic research discoveries that focus on how the immune system can be harnessed to eliminate cancer. As leaders in the development of T-cell immunotherapy clinical trials for leukemia and in partnership with Seattle Children’s Therapeutics, our investigators are now expanding their studies to identify tumor-specific vulnerabilities for solid tumors and brain tumors. By leveraging the translational and clinical research environment at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Seattle Children’s Research Institute, our researchers are transforming discoveries into new immunotherapies for children in Seattle and around the world.

We work closely with our colleagues in the Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, one of the top-ranked programs of its kind in the United States, which means your child will be cared for by the very best. Our five-year survival rates for many types of cancers are significantly higher than the national average.

U.S. News & World Report has recognized Seattle Children’s as a top children’s hospital every year since it began ranking medical centers more than 30 years ago.
